There is an old proverb that says, "Any fool can count the seeds in an apple, but only God can count the apples in a seed." This could be applied to Christians, also. Any one of us can count the Christians attending any particular congregation, but how many of us can accurately assess the potential of Christians in that congregation?

Have you ever stopped to think what the true potential is in this congregation? The potential of this church depends upon what we are willing to "let" God do with our lives? It does depend to some extent upon what the leaders and the preacher do, but it depends mostly upon what the individual members do with their lives.

Have you ever stopped think about what your true potential is; what you can do to help the church, not on your own, but with God’s help? Whatever goals are set by the leaders or the preacher, they can never be realized unless we all work toward those goals together!

The worst thing any of us can do is to underestimate our own worth and abilities. We become as the one-talent man and hide what we have and prevent the increase that could naturally occur. The important thing is: what goals have you set for yourself? You may not agree with the goals others set for you, but the goal you set for yourself is the one you will have to work toward achieving.

May each member of this congregation truly evaluate his/her potential. God can do more with us than we could ever imagine! He can "count the apples in the seed" !
